Gittler Instruments Mourns the Loss of Ravi Shankar

Gittler Instruments, LLC mourns the loss of one of the great pioneers of the musical form: Ravi Shankar. He was a brilliant musician and one of the great virtuoso talents of sitar music. A teacher, performer and composer, Ravi Shankar spread musical inspiration worldwide. Our heartfelt wishes go out to his family. We also wish Norah Jones, his talented daughter, long life and health.

The Gittler Guitar draws many of its pitch bend attributes to the sitar. The sitar imessage waiting activation is an instrument from India which was widely popularized in rock music of the 60’s, most notably the Beatles. We believe that Ravi Shankar’s legacy will continue to have a strong musical influence for many years to follow.
