Titanium is a lightweight and very strong metal with a nice luster. Titanium, like many other metals, will acquire surface scratches or scuffs through everyday wear. Scratches will be particularly evident in new Titanium and appear as a lighter color than the base metal. Over time your instrument will develop a natural, even satin patina over the entire surface.

How to Clean Your Guitar

First, it is best to wash the guitar gently with a liquid dish soap to remove dirt and grease, taking care to avoid the fret-marker holes and pickup openings. Rinse and then spray with an ammonia-based glass cleaner, such as Windex. Rinse in water again and dry with a soft towel.

How to Polish Your Guitar

The Gittler guitar is made from Titanium, which will slightly dull to an even satin finish over time. It can be brought back to its original brilliance and shine and minor scratches can be removed with a cream metal polish. We recommend using our own high-grade Titanium polish applied with a soft towel or polishing glove. If your titanium has deep scratches, use fine sandpaper (usually 400 or 600 grit) before polishing. Extra and deep cleaning of titanium can easily also be accomplished by hand. Use a cloth or a small cotton buff for a Dremel© tool. We also sell a mini polishing ball for a standard hand drill that can be used to excellent effect. Once complete, use liquid dish soap to remove the polish residue.
